Busy, Busy, Busy

I have been quite busy lately. Just when I think I have time to sit down and write a post, there is something else going on. Summer has officially come to the Walker household.

Let's see...

Monday was a most excellent day. I took Justin and A.J. to Morton so they could take an assessment test for Centralia College. (More on that in a later post.) Then I went to Jan's, my favorite thrift store in East Lewis County. I had no one with me and I had no one waiting on me, so I was able to browse til my heart's content. After Jan's, I headed on over to the Bean Tree where I ordered a French Vanilla Latte and sat and read my book for an hour. Did you get that...for one whole hour I sat and read a book and sipped on fru-fru coffee. Such luxuries don't happen very often. Then I met Lolanda for lunch at Plaza Jalisco. After dining with Lolanda, my hubby picked me up and we went out town. We had a fun day being together. We had a few errands to run but other than that we hung out together and enjoyed each other. We arrived home after 10 PM with 2/3 of the kids in bed and the other 1/3 watching a movie.

Tuesday morning we had the Heath's over for a pancake breakfast. It was nice to sit and visit with Kendra while all the kids played. At 1:00 I took Cayla, Lucas, Katie, Larah and Tabitha to the library for the Summer Reading Program. It was a fun outing and the kids were excited to check out books. Tuesday evening our family went to a friend's house for dinner. We enjoyed Homemade Chicken and Dumplings, boiled red potatoes, salad, dill green beans, and chocolate cake for dessert. It was scrumptious. More important than the delicious food was the excellent company. I count it as a huge blessing that people invite our large family over for dinner. Nothin' like feeding an army.

Wednesday was pretty much spent at home. Doing chores and just hanging out. That evening, Tim and the boys had Yo-Ads while the 4 younger ones and I stayed home. Jodie and the kids came over to hang with those of us who stayed home. Their company is always a treat.

Thursday was spent at the Northwest Trek. Jan, a sweet lady in our church, buys a season pass every year. She loves to go and she loves to take other families with her. Yesterday it was our turn. We had fun seeing cougars, black bears, owls, deer...all sorts of wild animals. We ate great snacks for lunch and enjoyed spending time with Jan and her granddaughter, Chelsey.

And here it is Friday. Tim, Justin, Matthew and Lucas left early this morning to help Steve pour cement at his property up on Old Barn Road. They were gone until around 2:30-3:00. Cayla, Katie, Larah, and I went to the Heath's to help with their yard sale. Kendra made us pepperoni pizza for dinner. Thanks Kendi!!

Tomorrow will be spent at the church building having a work day. I am excited as it is always a blessing to be with our "family". Cayla and I will be preparing lunch. Tonight we made Lemon Bars and tomorrow we will make a Frito Bean Salad and a veggie tray. We will be serving peaches and nectarines for fruit. It should be a great day accomplishing much.

That pretty much sums up what I have been doing lately. Next week will be consumed with haying and a yard sale. Hopefully I will find a few moments to post a time or two.

Everything sounds so fun! You really make me miss being there. :)

Hope the haying & yard sale go well! Will you all go camping again after the haying is done?

Michele :)
