...and they're off

My alarm went off this morning at 5:30 A.M. At 6:00 I woke up Justin, Matthew and Cayla. They are not used to being awake and motivating so early. But they were all in good moods and attitudes were great. They were out the door by 6:55, headed to Centralia to do their annual testing. All three were excited and looking forward to the three days of being with other homeschoolers.

Prior to today I had a talk with them and explained that testing was necessary, but in the whole scheme of life it is pretty unimportant. Their scholastic knowledge is being tested, which has value, but the academic results pale in comparison to their character and Christlikeness. I pray that they do exceedingly well on each test and that their minds will be able to retrieve the information needed. But my homeschool heart prays that far more will be achieved.

They were riding to Centralia with a family friend and three other testers. Before departure, we all held hands and Tim led us in a time of prayer. I hope that they have a wonderful three days and that they have a great time fellowshiping with each other and with fellow homeschoolers.

Happy testing to the best homeschoolers in the world. You six are top notch!!!
