Just An Update ~ Take Two
>> Wednesday, July 30, 2008
I am ready to be in bed, but my kids are outside playing hide & seek and I don't have the heart to tell them to come in yet. They have been couped up in the house for two days while I was away, so they deserve some time to exert some bound up energy. I just poured me a diet Pepsi and lit a candle which means this could be a long night. Diet Pepsi, a candle and blogging...3 things I love. I might be up til midnight.
Now...about the blog entry entitled Just An Update. That was a complete mistake. But I have really enjoyed the results. Nine comments were made without me writing a single word. Friday, July 25 @ 6:14 AM I sat down at my computer to write a post. I started with the title. Then Larah woke up with a poopy diaper and I lost all concentration. (Overnight pee and morning poop might be the worst smell ever!!!) What I failed to realize was that I had already hit the enter key which posted my title. I didn't have time to delete it right then. When I got back on later to delete the lonely title, two people had already left comments. So I just left it. And I must say, you commentors (is that a word?) are very funny people.
Now...about this new life growing inside of me. I found out last Monday that we are going to have a baby. Due Date~March 17, 2009. Praise God. Let me ask you a question...well, those of you who have ever taken a pregnancy test. Have you ever taken a pregnancy test in a Goodwill Store? Well, I never imagined I would have either but that is how it worked out. Yep, I bought the test at Rite Aid and headed on over to the Goodwill. After I shopped for about 5 minutes, I had this sudden urge to go to the bathroom. Gee, I wonder why? Once in the stall, I ripped open the test and peed on the stick. The results appeared instantly. I had to wait 2 very, very long hours before I was able to tell Tim. And now that I stop to think about it, I don't think I told him where and when I took the test.
Now...about these last two days. They have been wonderful. I left yesterday about 1:30 and headed on down to Newburg/Tigard, OR to spend the night with my honey. A friend let me borrow her car, so I had a comfy ride complete with sunroof, air conditioning and a 6 CD changer. I felt spoiled. I didn't ask to borrow the car, but she insisted and I didn't argue. Thank you, Wanda. Anyway, Tim and I were able to spend some much needed one on one time together. Last night we ordered in pizza and watched 4 episodes of Law and Order. Then we hit the sack. Today we got up and headed to the coast. We went to Lincoln City and walked on the beach. We ate lunch at Mo's and shopped at the Tanger Outlet Mall. I scored 3 lovely pairs of socks from Bass. After that we went back to Tigard and went furniture shopping. I fell in love with a couch, a double chair and ottoman. New furniture is so pricey, so I don't know if we'll get them, but it was fun shopping...especially with Tim. He makes any kind of shopping fun. We had to say good bye about 3:30, but he will be home on Saturday and Saturday can't come soon enough.
Now...about this song. I heard it on my way home tonight and it reminded me of my time away with Tim. Love Needs a Holiday by Reba. I can't embed it so hopefully you can click here and listen to it. Both the song and video are perfect. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0U4LNKaEgY
Now...about going to bed. I am as good as there. Good night.

Rebecca,
I want to thank you for sharing such wonderful word pictures of your experience at the Goodwill. Girl, I was with you in that stall (not sure how I feel about that, LOL) but thanks for including us just the same. Don't know if I'll ever be able to shop there again without a bit of a chuckle :)
About the on-going comments . . . wow, that is just tooooo funny and I especially appreciated the explanation of the word "tricksy." Sure helped to clear up that mystery.
Love you,
Sharon
I did once have this similar experience. With my son who is now 10. We were in Germany and it was about an hour ride home from the PX so I just peed on the stick in the bathroom at the store. I remember it had a little heart window on it and yes I was pregnant. So yes I have found out I was pregnant while shopping.
Anyway Congratulations. I have a 16 year old born on March 21. I pray you have a safe and healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.
once again, i'm super excited for you!
I love that you didn't have the heart to make your kids come back inside - i have been practicing this sort of thing (with babysitting). I need to be sweeter! :) but hey i'm learning!
And i'm glad you got to see Tim...
i had breakfast with Mrs Diane the other day and it made me think of each of you! :) haha!
Praying for you! Have a good week end!
I found out about Mari Alice at Books-a-Million. I wanted to take a test, but my bladder was empty. I bought a test and a 32oz agua at Walmart and headed to BAM. An hour and a half later, I excused myself from my comfy reading spot. If anyone else was in the bathroom, they were able to hear me whisper really loudly, "WOW...oh wow...no way...wow...all righty then..."
I can trump your grossness though: I am prone to convince myself that things are immaginary, so I slipped the test back in the wrapper, then back into the box. Yep, I checked that rig every hour on the hour until I saw Philip.
**might there be an award for wordiest comment????
I've done a Shell bathroom before:) We lived in a small town. Passed through a different small town on our way to church every Sunday. No one knew us there (at the time anyway:) So I bought a test and headed into the Shell bathroom. I took the test. It looked like it came back with only one line. Then after church I went out to the van and there were two lines. One was very faint and so was I. I can still remember my hands shaking as I held the stick out to my unbelieving husband.
Hehe! :) Like Calvin says, You can find all sorts of good things at the Goodwill! :)
We've been praying lots for you and the little one.
Blessings,
Michele
Congratulations:)!

Tricksy is what Gollum said about Bilbo after Bilbo won the guessing game.
