Honesty Hurts

>> Wednesday, July 23, 2008

Just a few minutes ago I was in my room getting dressed, complaining to my oldest daughter about my loss of hair...about how hard it is to get old...about how hard it is to accept the fact that my body is changing. I was crying out for some encouragement and comforting words. I was longing for her to wrap her arms around me and tell me how beautiful I am and always will be. But what I got (from my cold, heartless daughter...the one I carried inside of me for 9 months and went through hours and hours of pain to bring into this world) was quite the opposite. These are the words she had to offer me: "Mom, you're not old." Then she looks a little closer to my face and says..."Well, you do have some wrinkles. Oh no, wait. Those aren't wrinkles...that's just your double chin."

I think you are BEEE-utiful! I have dreams about your natural auburn awsomeness of a hair color. pop her....really. i love you

Well, I THINK YOU ARE BEE-YOOTIFUL TOO!

I love your hair and don't see your wrinkles. I can only imagine that Tim thought you gorgeous when you came to see him Sunday.

Last night I was looking at all the scars on my belly. My husband (with lots of love in his voice) noted that it looked like the L.A. freeway.

How do we survive?

I had to laugh at this since awhile back my son said to me "your a little fat, but not like some of the other moms." Gee what does that mean.

You are beautiful Sister, It is hard watching our bodies change, but the trade off is so well worth it. Illl take the kids anyday to a perfect body. Those honest moments are special. And I love your hair, is it really falling out?

atleast you know she'll be honest whenever you need it... :)

The girl i babysit always tells me how she feels about my clothes that i'm wearing! I just embrace it and sport it with confidence - no matter her 9 year old opinion! haha!

love you Megan
