The Simple Woman's Daybook
January 4, 2010Outside my window…it is extremely wet and dreary with a temperature of 44.2.
I am thinking…about our friends and what changes have been brought about in their lives. It is comforting to know that God is in control.
I am thankful for…Larah Mikal Walker. She makes me laugh everyday.
I am wearing…my grey hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and my favorite pair of socks.
I am remembering…the snow, the rain, and the floods that were taking place this time last year.
I am going…to write a few more thank you notes this evening.
I am reading…Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker by Beth Henperger and Sewing for Dummies by Jan Saunders.
I am hoping…to acquire more skills in the area of communication. I'm taking lessons this weekend.
On my mind…hoping Larah has a wonderful 3rd birthday.
From the learning rooms…back to the books tomorrow. It has been a wonderful Christmas break.
Noticing that…having a wood burning stove creates way more cobwebs than I can handle. Ugh!!!
Pondering these words…"Mom, would please not sing? You're hurting my ears." Ouch, that one cut...deep.
From the kitchen…bananas for dehydrating, a birthday cake waiting to be frosted, a half-loaded dishwasher, and laundry on the table. I am addressing all issues after this post.
Around the house…Sam is in bed for his afternoon nap. Larah (the birthday girl) and Katie are resting on the futon watching Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang. Lucas, Cayla, and Matthew are playing a game. It's a cozy afternoon in the Walker home.
One of my favorite things…my new shoes from Cabelas. I have such happy feet:)
From my picture journal…

She is so darn cute. Happy Third Birthday to her! I can't believe she is three already.
so Cabela's shoes, did you get those for Christmas? I hear you about the cobwebs, since we have been burning fires in the fireplace, the dust and filth is everywhere. I wish I had my old cleaning lady back.
Tim bought me the shoes for our anniversary. I have been wanting them for a long time. I was completely surpised. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. So comfortable I thought about doing a review on Cabelas.com.
About the cleaning lady...are you calling me old?
I'm glad we share a love for shoes! Bought me some new running shoes Sunday night. Not as fashionable as your new Cabela shoes, but new shoes none the less.
Have a good week!
