Swallowing a Quarter

>> Thursday, November 20, 2008

Last night, our dear, darling Larah (not quite 2 years old) decided that money needed to be part of her diet. She thought that swallowing a quarter would be interesting. She did not choke...it seemed to have gone down smoothly. We are hoping and praying for it to pass and to pass quickly. I was wondering if any of you have experienced such moments and if so, what did you do? Did it pass and if it did, how long did it take? I have done some research on the internet and found that it should pass, but may take up to a week. I don't really want to wait a week and I definitely don't look forward to an endoscopy! UGGGHHHH!!!!

To my knowledge none of our girls swallowed money.
Christina choked on a piece of hard candy that caused an uproar from the adults present. In fact they, the adults, were so scary in their panic that she managed to swallow the thing without our help :)

Now if you are talkin dryer sheets-the little spongy blue ones-that actually can be pushed so far up the nose that it takes a Doctor's assistance to remove it . . . I can help with that :) Little ole-nameless-accomplished that feat when she was about 8 yrs old :) She knows who she is and still hasn't lived that one down yet :)

I will be praying that this will pass quickly without trouble and that the One in control of even this situation will bring peace to everyone involved as you wait :)
Love you all,
Sharon

I used to live in fear that my kids would do something like this! You know who would be in charge of examining the goods to see when it passed!! My daughter managed to choke on a peanut, inhale it in her lung and had to have it surgically removed. I think I'd opt for the quarter.
