THE SIMPLE WOMAN’S DAYBOOK
FOR TODAY
JUNE 15, 2009
Outside my window...the garden is growing, the chickens are happy in their new coops, the kids are playing with the neighbors and the horses are laying in the sun.
I am thinking...about how to rearrange bedrooms and where to put what kids. Sam is still sleeping in our room and it is time for him to move out. Tim and I have been thinking about this for weeks and haven't come up with a good solution. Of course, if any of you Washington Walker readers have an extra $10,000 laying around, you could go ahead and mail it to us. We would happily build on an addition in your honor.
From the learning rooms…summer break. Yee-haw!!!
I am thankful for...my dad. We have a struggling relationship, but I am thankful for him and look forward to a day of reconciliation. I miss him much and hope that he has a wonderful Father's Day.
From the kitchen...quesadillas are on the menu for tonight. Served with queso and chips and a bowl of cool, refreshing ice cream for dessert.
I am wearing...capris, crocs, and a short sleeve shirt.
I am creating...piles of folded clothes. Lots and lots of them.
I am going...to put away these wonderfully created piles just as soon as I am done with this post.
I am reading...The Five Love Languages by Gary Smalley...still.
I am hoping...Kyle and Jodie (and kiddos) move to Randle. The house next door is still for sale. Come on guys! What are you waiting for???
I am hearing...the 7th season of 24. This is probably what I will be hearing for the remainder of today and well on into tomorrow. Matthew bought the DVD's today and I have a feeling he and Tim have entered into a 24 marathon.
Around the house...the guys are watching 24. Lucas, Katie, Cayla, and Larah are outside playing in the front yard. Lucas and Cayla have broken arms. Larah and Katie are making casts for them out of hay string. I love the imaginations of children.
One of my favorite things...is the smell of horse poop. Gross, I know, but it is a constant reminder of where we live...NOT in the city.
A few plans for the rest of the week…Monday night taco night at The Tall Timber, a trip to town Thursday with Lolanda, Sidney, and Sam, a tea party at Shoestring Valley Community Church on Friday, Saturday Sabbath Celebration.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing...

Too Cute!!!

24....girl, JW and Phil are 3 discs in...there seems to be no way out. They started before I went into the hospital. During my stay I had some [drug induced] nightmares. One in particular, involved our nation's peril concerning air traffic control. When I woke up, I had to console myself, "That wasn't real. I mean it wasn't even ever real. It was that stupid 24 show!"
Um, not to be presumptuous, but could I be on the list of possible recipients for those way-too-cute dresses a hand-me-downs...I'm thinking Mari & Elizabeth could find great joy in wearing them in a couple years. (just a thought:)
love you
