Cookin' with Style

Tim has recently started a new hobby and our whole family, and occasionally friends, benefit from it. He has begun cooking with a Dutch oven. I'm not talking about cooking on the kitchen stove or in the oven. He does the cooking outside on a cement slab placed on a round with charcoal briquettes. His initial meal was prepared and served while we were camping in Prineville. Needless to say, it was a hit. So far he has only experimented with breakfast, but the few dishes he has made have been quite delightful. We have talked about making this our Saturday morning tradition.
Tonight I have decided to give it a try. Tim is gone and I am going to surprise him with a recipe called Chicken Delight from a Dutch oven cookbook. It is a cookbook put together by the Northwest Dutch Oven Society. When we purchased this cookbook, we were told all recipes were tried and true. I am soon going to find out. Better get goin'...I need to go burn me some briquettes.
Here is a picture of Tim's set-up in our backyard. This was the breakfast he made for us last Saturday...corn beef hash with scrambled eggs. Can't wait to see what he serves us this next weekend.

so, how did it turn out?
I've been mullin' this post over in my mind for a week now. I've always cooked in what my Mama called a "dutch oven" but it is a big pot with a lid that we put in the oven or the stovetop--depending on what we are cooking. I use it to cook roasts and gumbos...just about everything. But it does not look like your "dutch oven." I am intrigued. May have to buy me one of those cookbooks. Don't guess it is available on Amazon?
