Smiles

“We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do.”---Mother Teresa of Calcutta

What a quote. So simple. So powerful. So true.

In our quest to get out of debt, I have been selling unused school books online. When someone purchases books from me, I wrap them in a brown grocery bag and address the package. On the back of the package I draw a huge, goofy smiley face. A fellow homeschooling mom living on the other side of the U.S., who purchased books from me, received such a package. Huge, goofy smiley face and all. She shared with me that the day she received her books in the mail was a particularly hard day for her and her family. She thanked me because of the smiley face on the back of her package. She said it was just what she needed on that particular day. I had no idea that such a small act would have such a great impact on someone. So whatever you do today, wherever you go, whatever you send, smile. A simple, powerful, true smile. You may have an impact on someone's not so good day.

I really like the picture you posted. That is so cool that you put smiley faces on your packages. I did not know that you did that. It is cool that you made somebody's day. I like your blog and keep up the good work.
