Our Family Bed

>> Monday, November 05, 2007

One piece of premartial advice that we received and welcomed almost 14 years ago was to purchase a king-size bed. We took this advice and how happy I am that we did. Our bed is used daily. Most people make a lot of memories around the kitchen table. We do this, however we also make lots of memories on our bed. Here is a list of things that take place on our "family bed."

Sleeping

Reading books with each one of the kids
Doing school
Changing diapers
Praying
Singing
Family time
Cuddling with the little ones
Heart-to-heart talks
Hiding under the covers
Folding and stacking laundry
Eating breakfast
Playing games
Taking naps
Corrective discipline
Wrapping gifts
Giving it up for welcomed guests
Talking on the phone
Writing letters
and of course...
The obvious (hee-hee)

I know there must be more I could add to the list, but that is all I can come up with at the moment. One thing that hasn't taken place on our bed, but maybe, just maybe someday will, is to give birth. The idea excites me, but the lack of a very large black bathtub with jets persuades me to drive to Onalaska. Thanks for reading...now go make memories.

Hi,
I wish I could have that many memories on my bed. I don't think I have any memories on my bed.Oh I do have a couple memories. All I have is a bunch of stuffed animals. And Katie falling off the the bed...which was a Califonia King size bed but she was OK. These are all the memories I have. And I liked all your memories. Well I have to get off so I might just write later so good bye. And later I may remember some more.

From your daughter,
Cayla
