Quotable Quotes

One of my favorite childhood memories was coming home from school and watching Little House on the Prairie with my sister. (AKA: Little House on the Prairie Dog. Katie combines the title with prairie dog hunting. Can ya tell we live in the sticks?) It didn't matter what episode I watched, I always ended up crying. I still love to watch it with my girls (so does Amy with her girls)...although I don't cry...well, not as often. I appreciate the wholesomeness of the show and the character-building lessons each episode teaches. We own one season on DVD and I am hoping in the future to purchase more. Or for those of you who care...my birthday is June 19.

While I was on Internet today I came across some quotes by Michael Landon. I like what he had to say:

  • I believe in God, family, truth between people, the power of love.
  • Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I think viewers are hungry for shows in which people say something meaningful.
  • With a houseful of kids you give each other strength.
  • Whatever you want to do, do it now. There are only so many tomorrows.

Have a wonderful Sunday,

thank you for sharing..neat way to come up with the name of your blog. I too LOVE Little House on the Prairie and grew up watching it & still love to watch it today.I read all the books growing up too...I will never grow tired of it. I wish life could be as simple as it was then..not that it was easy..they had their hardships..but there is just something about it...the clothing they wore & made their love for God..their love for family and friends and how neighbors helped neighbors...they enjoyed the simple things and the games the children played were simple but looked fun.... :)too bad life couldn't be like that today....the world is a crazy place and people are so busy to really truly enjoy God's creation around them..too busy for each other..too busy for God....too busy to enjoy those simple things in life...:) Have a great day!!!!

What a great memory. It's funny as a kid, I just wanted to hate Nellie, but as an adult watching the show, she was such a treat in her own way. Do you remember the episode when she pretended to break her leg and then Laura found out the truth and pushed her down the hill in the wheel chair? That is to this day one of my favorite episodes. Ok, so the world knows, you were definately the Mary in our relationship, sweet, kind always doing something for someone, I was Laura, more the ornary trouble making type.

We watched "The Last Sin Eater" over the weekend. It is based on a novel by Francine Rivers and it is directed/produced by Michael Landon's son. I read the credits just as I was commenting that it was a beautifully told story. It runs in the family, I guess.

I, too, shall always remember mean Nellie Olson rolling down that hill in that rickity chair. Faker!
